The Remote Ready Program will be a pilot program to support the disability workforce in the Pilbara by allowing them to engage together, grow ideas, discuss issues and be part of the solution to local challenges related to working in remote Pilbara communities.
The program will involve participant networking, mentorship, personal and professional developmental workshops and online modules focused on working with disability clients living in remote communities.
Karratha Central Health Care and WA Centre for Rural Health collaborated to deliver the Self-Care Workshop for Disability Care Workers, the workshop focused on practical strategies for self-care, signs and symptoms of stress, finding help and support as well as creating connections and networks between participants.
We’d like to thank our facilitators Prue and Catherine and all our participants in the workshop.
